Contact Industry Accreditation to discuss yours.
When you apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), we look at the previous learning and experiences you have gained from work, life or previous training and compare these against the learning outcomes required for a specific unit or qualification.
A program or qualification includes several units. You may apply for RPL for an entire qualification or individual units. You must provide evidence that demonstrates that you are currently competent in all of the criteria required of each particular unit.
Being competent means that you:
- can perform a job/task/activity to meet today’s industry standards
- can do it in a consistent way, over time
- have sufficient knowledge to enable you to perform it in a range of situations
Industry Accreditation will help you identify the requirements of a unit of competency.
You need to provide evidence of your knowledge and skills by submitting relevant documents or materials with your application form or through discussion and answering questions regarding your competency with Industry Accreditation. A Position Description and Resume are relevant and required for the application, however cannot stand alone as evidence.
We will take you through this process and make it as straightforward as we can for you and your touring company. We usually interview you (either face to face or over the telephone) and assist with all the processes involved. If you are a current tour guide, with no formal qualifications, we want to help you gain that accreditation. Our aim is to make the process simple and painless for you, allowing you to go on with what you do best – guiding.
If you are submitting an RPL application and you have special needs, reasonable adjustments are made in the evaluation procedure. For example if you have a disability, experience difficulties in language or numeracy, or if you are from a non- English speaking background,
Industry Accreditation will be able to provide you with assistance.
